Robotic arm palletizing boxes at the end of a conveyor network, in a factory shipping area
SOLUTION 04

Sorters and high-cadence shipping.

Automatic sortation integrated from picking through to loading, to sustain ever-shorter cutoff windows.

Cross-belt Automatic reading Per-parcel traceability
THE CHALLENGE

The shipping cadence manual sorting can no longer sustain.

Shorter and shorter cutoff windows, seasonal peaks concentrated into a few days, and the commercial promise of fast delivery all put direct pressure on shipping. Manual sorting has a throughput ceiling: past a certain volume, there simply is not enough labor to hire in time for the peak.

Cross-belt sorters automate the stage that most limits cadence: each parcel is read once and automatically routed to the correct dock, route, or carrier, with no manual intervention between picking and loading.

HOW WE DEPLOY IT

From assessment to operation, in three stages.

01

Induction and reading

Boxes and parcels are inducted onto the conveyor network and identified via automatic barcode or label reading.

02

High-speed sortation

A cross-belt sorter routes each parcel to the correct dock, route, or carrier, at high cadence and with no rework.

03

Shipping consolidation

An integrated flow from picking through to loading, with full traceability of every parcel and no manual touch in between.

The peak stops depending on how many people you managed to hire.
